God or Government?

Here we are again in the midst of silly season in a Presidential election.  I am not going to endorse anyone on this site.  There are good and bad attributes to both parties and all candidates.  Whoever wins this election, we must respect him as the leader of our country and pray that his decisions will be led by God.

The issue I am addressing today is the notion many people seem to have that the government is the be-all and end-all savior to all crises.  People are waiting for the government to fix the economy, lower the gas prices, pay their bills, raise their children, feed their dog, mow their lawn and do their laundry.  They act as if the President can just wake up one day and say “I declare the economy to be good and gas prices to be low.”, and it will happen.  Honestly, wouldn’t every President do that?  His approval ratings would be through the roof.  His party would be assured power for generations to come.  If you are one of these people who think your respective candidate or political party is going to “save” any aspect of your life, I ask you to PLEASE study the Constitution and learn just what the government’s power actually is.

God has promised through His Word to never see the Righteous forsaken nor His Seed begging for bread.  Government can never make such a promise.  God promised to supply all our needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus.  Government?  Not so much.  Certain candidates may promise to pour you out a blessing pressed down, shaken together and running over, but only our Lord can make good on such a promise.

God can be depended on.  Government can’t.  God will never leave you nor forsake you.  Government will.  God loves you.  Government doesn’t.  God can give you eternal life.  Government can’t wait for you to die so they can stop sending your social security check.  God is the answer to all your problems.  Government is the source of most of them.

We must set our affections on things above.  Trust in Jesus, our only true security, our only true liberty, our only true law and order.

If you haven’t made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you didn’t stumble upon this page by accident.  He stands at the door and knocks upon the heart of anyone who will accept Him.  He is a Friend who will be with you always, even unto the end of the world.  Just speak to Him in your own words.  Ask Him to forgive your sins.  Acknowledge that you need Him.  Ask Him to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life.

Please contact me for more information regarding Repentance, Baptism in Jesus’ Name and receiving the Holy Ghost.  You can leave a comment or email me at duano121280@yahoo.com

May the Lord Bless and keep you in Jesus Name, and may He continue to Bless the United States of America and her next President.
